Everyone wants a collection of perfect wedding photographs to record their special day.
One way to help ensure your photographer captures the right moments is to provide a shot list. The style and number of these images will all depend on your photographer and how long you’ve hired that them for. No doubt there are many wedding moments you won’t want to miss and one way of ensuring that you get those shots is that you consider a list and talk with your photographer.
Your photographer will possibly have their own list to work from but will welcome your input – perhaps you’ve seen a great wedding photo somewhere and want to use the idea yourself if it’s not on the list below then add it in and give it to the photographer.
You can just print out the list and give it to your photographer but it is better that you use this list as a guide to create your own personalised shot list. You should probably count on 4-5 minutes per shot and longer for group shots. It may be unrealistic to get every shot on the list so use it as a guide and allow for the photographer to use their artistic skills and creativity and remember to appoint a family member to co-ordinate and organise the wedding guests for their photographs. The photographer won’t know who they are. – Peter
