I was privileged to accompany some researches in Storm Bay yesterday on one of their monthly water sampling trips. There were 8 researchers from TAFI and the CSIRO taking multiple water samples at a number of locations in Storm Bay. The samples were taken at varying depths up to 90m and various readings such as temperature and salinity where taken. The many water samples were taken back to various laboratories for further analysis. The main aim of the surveys are to establish a baseline for further monitoring of changes of our oceans over time.
