The weather was cold and wet for the first few days of Dark MOFO and certainly not inviting to get out and see the various events but cleared to beautiful sunny days and very cold frosty nights.
Having been able to see Spectra from Kingston and having to head out on Friday night I decided to detour via Mt. Wellington and see what all the fuss was about. Well is was certainly cold at -2 degrees but the air was still and clear and the view was fantastic. If you ever get the chance to view Hobart at dusk or sunrise when the air is clear and the clouds don’t obscure the view then take the opportunity to do so. You will not be disappointed. Any way, this will give you an idea of what you get to see. The image isn’t perfect (not quite used to shooting nightime landscapes), so I will have to go back again next year and try again.
