Here is an image from May, 2009 during a trip on the West Coast Wilderness Railway. It was a chilly day in may but the weather was perfect. The West Coast pioneers built the original railway in 1896 with pick and shovel out of the steep side of the gorge along the King river. The railway travels for about 35 kilometers, there are forty two bridges and the terrain is very steep and rugged. The pioneers were constantly working up to their waists in the cold water. I love the rich colours of the train and wilderness. The Spirit of Tasmania have asked to display the image in their Devonport departure lounge soon so if you are passing by, have a look.
