“Wanted, a good photographer, some one friendly and who doesn’t charge like a wounded bull. I want my day to be as perfect and run as smoothly as possible. I want to enjoy my day with the people I love the most.”
I received the above email the other day requesting a photographer for a wedding shoot. The friendly part is easy but rarely do a good photographer and cheap go together and for very good reasons.
A cheap photographer is nearly always a shoot and burn photographer. That is easy and indeed may be all that the bride and groom want or can afford but remember we are talking about a lifetime of memories here. A professional photographer or one pertaining to be will nearly always shoot in RAW for best quality, backup the images at least 3-4 times to mitigate against loss, (who wants to explain to the bride and groom why their images are gone forever), and then spend up to several weeks cataloging, sorting and post processing the images to get the very best for their clients. You are paying for quality, safety, time, and the photographers creative skills, knowledge and professional equipment to produce the very best images of your special day. Memories that you can cherish forever. Photographers are available to cover all price points and if you have to cut back on your wedding costs you should look elsewhere before looking at the photography part of the wedding. We are talking about a lifetime of memories, what else from the wedding will last that long? There is no substitute for professional quality, the choice is up to you – Peter
