The Rockwell B-1B lancer Strategic Bomber was on display at the recent Avalon 2011 Airshow near Geelong in Victoria.
There were two B-1B Lancer’s at Avalon 2011 and both flew in several displays. The B-1B first entered service with the United States Airforce in 1986. It was originally designed as a supersonic low level penetrator bomber with long range.
The B-1B is commonly called the “Bone” (originally from B-One). The two on display at Avalon 2011 flew direct and non-stop from Austin Texas and were a part of a large number of aircraft on display from the US military.
I have uploaded some images from the show which are available for viewing and purchase. More aircraft will be uploaded over the next few weeks.
